CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF POINT PLEASANT
September 23,2003The Common Council of the City of Point Pleasant, a municipal
corporation in Mason County, West Virginia, met in Special session at
the City Building, 400 Viand Street at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 23,
2003.The following were found present:
James H. Wilson - Mayor
Stanton D. Burdette – City Clerk
and the following members of City Council:

Elaine G. Hunt
Absent were

William H. Wallace.
M. Leota Sang led Council in prayer. The meeting was called to order
by Mayor James H. Wilson who led Council in the Pledge of Allegiance to
the Flag.A Waiver of Notice is attached to this set of minutes. The purpose of
the meeting was to:(1) APPROVE THE SUBMIITAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR $15,000.00 IN GRANT
MONEY (2002) TO BE USED TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF AN ARIEL FIRE TRUCK
BOUGHT LAST YEAR.(2) APPROVE THE AUDITOR TO BE USED FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30,
2003.In reference to the Resolution, Mayor Wilson explained that this
grant was applied for last year and that it had been held up by a
lawsuit. The state now needs an authorized Resolution before any funds
can be distributed. Elaine G. Hunt made the motion to approve the
Resolution and Kevin R. Nott seconded. The motion passed unanimously.The last item of business on the agenda was to approve the Auditor to
be used for FYE June 30, 2003 audit. City Clerk Stanton D. Burdette
explained that Imre Pentek, CPA was the low bidder on the audit proposal
and that the City had used his firm previously. Being no other
discussion, Robert C. Doeffinger made the motion to approve the contract
proposal with Mr. Pentek. Kevin R. Nott seconded and the motion passed
unanimously.Kevin R. Nott made the motion to adjourn and Ronald R. Kapp seconded.
The meeting adjourned at 7:14 P.M.
