The city started operating a primary
treatment plant in 1955 and was up graded to secondary treatment in 1990. The
average daily flow of the plant is 350,000 gallons per day, but is designed to
handle as much as 720,000 gallons per day. The collection systems is throughout
the city, with 7 lift stations. We treat the waste water and maintain the
systems in Henderson, WV. We have 6 employees who maintain the collection system
and the treatment plant. The effluent is tested monthly as per WV Department of
Environmental Protection rules, with certain maximum limits. These limits for
the plant are far below the maximum allowed limits. |
